Well Easter is almost upon us and very soon after that we will be on our way to Murrurundi. It’s looking at being a fabulous week. The people in Murrurundi are very happy to have us coming to lend a hand. Click here to view local news release.
We are staying at the Murrurundi Rosedale Equine Complex, 4 Rosella Street, Murrurundi. As you are aware there are limited powered sites, Rosie has already discussed your needs with you. We ask that if you are using a generator they are to be limited to operation during daylight hours.
Registration is at 4pm at the hall at the showgrounds. You will see our signs and the vehicle out the front.
Communication during the week: We will have a whiteboard in the Hall for daily updates, times of meals, teams, leaders, first aiders, team changes info etc.
What else do you need to bring?
- Warm clothing, the temperature is set to drop to single figures at night.
- Musical Instrument – be ready for a jam session and singalong around the fire with the army band.
- Dress like a Farmer Outfit for Friday Night
- Fold up chair
- Plate, bowl, cup & cutlery
- If you were at the Kyabram rescue you will have been given, cap, water bottle and 2 x t Shirts, Please bring them along with you.
What else is happening?
As part of our Gift of Music program we will be visiting several of the local schools delivering musical instruments, ipads, lego. We have ten members of the Australian Army “ROCK” Band Sydney with us for the week, they will be performing at the Schools. What a treat for the students.
The Army band will be performing at the White Hart Hotel on the Monday evening for us and the local Community. At this stage they are looking at another venue for the Wednesday night when we go out to eat.
Our Buy a Bale program has got two hay drops organised, one on Monday and one on Friday, we are assisting 25 farmers with fodder.
One of our Councillors Garry Bentley, will be with us for most of the week. He will also be able to help local farms register with Rural Aid for other assistance.
Friday Night is Dress like a farmer night. It’s our farewell Dinner and Awards night, time to relax after a great week
