Over 185 volunteers have been registered and confirmed for the week long Mega Farm Rescue of 14 Farms in the Forbes district …. thanks to the support of major sponsors’ Nova and Bendigo Bank.
The following information is important for all who have registered and have submitted police checks.
Bump in was going to be just the 14th but we’ve had to add the 13th as well) will be between 9am and 5pm on Saturday and 9am and 3pm Sunday.
Welcome meeting induction and week briefing begins at 4pm Sunday afternoon. All volunteers are required to be at this meeting. Teams will be announced and daily job lists provided.
Sunday night dinner will be at 6pm.
Monday to Friday each day begins with breakfast from 6.30am. All teams will depart to their farm for the days work by 8am each morning.
Knock off time will be between 4pm – 5pm from the properties with dinner back at the showgrounds on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights being held at 7pm each night.
Wednesday night will be an “eat in town” night (Rural Aid will not be cover this nights meal costs). where no dinner will be cooked at the showgrounds so we can all inject money into the town economy. Thursday night will be a “Thank You” dinner. Saturday morning from 8am will be the beginning of departures with the full site to be pulled down by 5pm Saturday.
During the week we will be having movies or comedy show episodes on Monday
Tuesday and Thursday nights for those who wish to partake.
A range of media will be covering the event from Ch7, 2GB, Nova and local TV crews. Nova’s ‘Fitzy & Wippa’ will be broadcasting from Forbes Showground as our major sponsors
in conjunction with Bendigo Bank.

On the ground at the Farm Rescue will be 5 members of the Rural Aid team who will meet you upon entry and are there to help during the week.
