This was our first project for the year and combined helping farmers and community groups in the region. Rural towns are also struggling with the drought and are an integral part of the rural landscape. We now will be including these communities in a more holistic approach to helping these communities
Thirty seven volunteers, twenty Honda employees and members of the Australian Army band descended on Kyabram and Killawarra towns in Northern Victoria for a week of volunteering.

We worked on 4 farms and 9 community projects. We fixed fences, repaired and service farm equipment, welded, roof repairs and guttering and did lots of gardening on the farms.
In Kyabram we worked on painting the town hall, helping the ladies at the croquet club with much need maintenance on their club rooms. At the Fauna Park we painted, repaired and tied up and built a viewing platform for the local historical Society. At the show grounds we renovated their old kitchen. And at the community garden we did a complete make over to the point where it’s back to what it was set up for, a place that the community can come and share with each other .
We were also involved with 4 local school with our gift of Music program, giving the schools much need musical instruments. The Army band performed at the school as well as putting on a community concert of the volunteers and the town.

All in all a fantastic week of hard work, great music, great community outcomes and making a difference in the lives of Farmers struggling with the drought.
