Rural Aid has just finished another successful Farm Rescue, in the 3rd week of May at Pilliga, central NSW. This area hasn’t seen any significant ran in 6 years and the farmers are doing it really tough out there. Ten volunteers spend 5 days on Jack and Jan’s and Angus and Krystal’s farm helping with fencing, roofing repairs, painting and general house renovations. These Farm Rescue are not only about the physical work the volunteers carry out on the farms, it also about the relationships that are built when a motivated group of people come together for a common goal to help there struggling farming communities. It’s truly an uplifting experience for everyone.
