If you are one of the growing army of caravaning and campers discovering, the joys of the open road in this wonderful country but looking to be involved with others then this program is for you.
The Rural Aid Farm Rescue Program brings together tradies and volunteers from all over Australia in to get as much work completed for Australian farming families in a week.
Just like the reality TV show that fixes up old houses, we want to organise a number of group Farm Rescues. Our 3000 farmers have a lot of equipment to fix and houses in really bad repair so we thought why not get a team of tradies and volunteers together and make a change.
For many campers and caravaners the lure of a week off the normal beaten path is an opportunity not to pass up, visit properties and areas not normally accessible to the travelling public. Meet new people, make new friends, do something good for a stranger. Caravaners and campers are welcome to set up on farming properties, experience life on the farm, help out a bit and take some time off to see the local sites. You might even get a free meal or two and hot showers thrown in for good measure.
See some of the work we did on our latest trip to Mitchell in South West Queensland.
